i was thinking of getting 1 + 2 of french [version 3]

anyone use it before; does it work; how long does it take; would you recommend it?

and in the videos i see you have to talk and it checks your accent and everything. i'm assuming you need a microphone with your computer + the program; thats it?

thanks :)

  1. I have used it for a couple different languages and it is good, but it is very very repetitive and can get rather boring after awhile. You want to get something that is rather compelling. What I am doing right now is using the Before You Know It Program which is free from http://www.byki.com/ and http://www.livemocha.com/ which is also free and does all the stuff that Rosseta Stone does and more for free at the same time. I find this combination very effective and after just a week of using them I can already speak in the simplest of conversations with ease. Maybe try this combination out and see how you like it.

    Buona Fortuna!! (Good Luck)

  2. I am Russian, and I am 22. I was 16 years old  when I came to USA. I did not know English and I used Rosetta stone. I loved it. It was easy and fun to learn. It will teach you the basics of the language you are trying to learn and it will stick with you, because you learn to read, write and speak really easy. I would recommend you to get that program.
