Anyone use skype for home phone? Is it good?

I heard Scype works well and is cheap. The new thing out is called OOMA and has unlimited calls forever for free. Its kind of expensive to buy at first but then you dont have to worry about phone bills.

My sister has Skype at home.

It has the lowest charge for national and international zone but sometimes (frequently) the signal is distort (some times so bad that i can only hear 2-3 words from 10 lol).

So good price

I use Skype, and it is very good..... but not as a "home phone".

Skype is a good "long distance calling" solution, but not to be confused with a home phone.  All home phone systems should be e911 compatible.... Skype is not able to make 911 calls.

I have high regard for Skype, but as a backup and long distance solution.... not as a primary home phone system.
