This OP system was already installed at time of purchase. It is a nightmare! Is anyone else experiencing problems? For example, startup is slow (sigh), logging into Internet takes forever to load, some programs are "not yet classified" and I cannot find any help anywhere to "classify" them, mine is set to "best performance" however, it's performance is substandard. If anyone knows how I can fix these problems, or has experience with this system, please answer. (I miss my XP...)

  1. Vista is a slower Operating System than XP...  Microsoft dropped the ball on this one... One thing you can do is when you are on your computer, click the start icon and type: msconfig into the search and push enter. This will bring up a dialogue after you confirm you are the administrator. From here click on the startup tab on top. Here you can select all the programs you do not use and uncheck them. Unchecking these will cause them not to startup with your computer and make it go alot faster! I hope it helped! 2. Hi. try here.

  3. either re-format the computer or disable all the start-up items.   You can disable all the startup items by typing "msconfig" on run.  The dialog box appear and then click on startup tab to disable everything, except those items belong to Microsoft. Next, right click on "my computer" or "computer" icon to open " system properties", then click on "advance" tab, under advance tab click on the setting of performance section.  Once you get there, uncheck everything that you see.  This setting should bring your computer much faster than before.
