Anyone wanna say Chinese women naturally look younger than they are now?

The AP found a Chinese website this morning that contained a news clipping from earlier this year naming one of the Chinese women's gymnasts and reporting her as 13 years old which would mean she could only turn 14 this year. This was a girl named He, not Deng LinLin who looks like shes 10. the website page with the report no longer works and Chinese officials wont comment.

Actually, there is a competitive advantage in gymnastics to girls under the age of 16.  There have been a number of articles on Yahoo! Sports that discuss the advantages underage girls have.  That is why this is an issue.

There's not much that can be done on this.  The IOC isn't going to act on on-line evidence that no longer exists.  Plus, they don't want to offend China.

I really wonder how much pride China can have in these medals?

I really think that it isnt fair because those young gymnasts should wait, train, and compete when they are old enough. China shouldnt be able to break the rules! They look 10, they cant be 16, they just cant!

it's a new way of counting, tz, tz..from 13 to 16 in 1 year, what do you know.  Poor kids, it's not their fault at all..didn't you hear that a committee decided to switch the image of the singer with another girl, b/c she was prettier? What can you comment about that???  This is all so sad, and so far only sweet kids are getting hurt, because that's how the high power committees like it:(  Disgusting

does it really freckin matter....if you ask me the US should not even investigate this

1. the IOC wont find china guilty

2. and even so the US got beaten by those 14 year old girls thats even more embarrassing if its true

He was 13 in November 2007 and then she turned 16 in August 2008. LOL!

They didn't do a good job in covering up the trail.....

Yes, Americans messed up big time. And yes China was great and on talent alone they are the tops.... but violating rules does matter.
