I have a 97 chevy tahoe and I want to sell it for at least 4500.00. It has a salvage title because of an accident i had and the year of the truck pretty much made it a done deal as far as being repaired. I found a shop to do the repairs and was quoted 2000.00 including a new paint job. Does anyone know where i can post it for sale? Or sale it right out?

I cant do CARMAX since it has a SALVAGE title :>(

  1. you won't get 4500 for that.  try putting a for sale sign in the window.

  2. eBay would be a good place to start

  3. Donate it to a recovery program or the Volunteers of America and get a tax break.

it would make a nice homeless shelter.

  4. Craigslist is your best option followed by Ebay, you won't get $4500. I'd be surprised if you got $2000 for it.

  5. I would start by thowring a for sale sign on it and put in the local newspaper then follow it up by putting in on craigslist and kijiji and i'd wait a little bit and see what kind of offers you'd get and worse comes to worse theres always ebay but I'd try to avoid ebay becasue who wants to pay to advertise when you go so many free options

  6. Are you planning on purchasing a new or used car to replace it?  If so, maybe you can use that vehicle as a credit towards the new one.

Do your research at http://www.kbb.com/ to find out what your vehicle is really worth (and be honest about the condition). Use that information to go to the dealership for a credit towards a new/used vehicle.  If you go in prepared with pricing info on how much your vehicle is worth, they will be more willing to give you what your car is worth.  Honestly though, I've never tried to sell/trade-in a vehicle with a salvage title, so this is just a best guess.

  7. Carmax appraised my mint condition 94' tahoe for $250 xD  I now have it listed on craigslist. (free)

  8. Sell the car on your own.

Selling your car on your own is the best way to get the most money for it.

And getting the most money possible for your car can be especially important if you still owe money on it to a bank or credit union. If you do owe money, call the bank or financial institution and ask for the "pay-off" price -- the amount of money you have to pay to own the car outright. Ask them, too, how long this amount is valid for -- it's usually ten days.

  9. you should try a used car place or maybe if you know someone who needs a car try and sell it to them.
