Anyone who's had a FULL re-constructive tummy tuck and a c-section? I need comparisons?

Well I went for my 34 week checkup today with my OBGYN. (Im 34 weeks pregnant). I am being scheduled for a c-section because the baby is growing REALLY large and he is concerned about vaginal delivery with me. In 2005 I had a tummy tuck. It was a full hip to hip tuck with muscle reconstruction all the way up my abdomen and it was pretty extensive and deep. *Please note, not just a bit of skin pulled down*.

I was wondering if there was anyone that had had both a FULL abdominoplasty and a c-section and if you could compare the experience. I think it will probably be similar but c-section will involve a much smaller section of my abdomen.

Can anyone help with comparisons on the experience and pain level, recovery etc?

  1. Hi, there..I have had both!!! I have 2 kids, both were c-section..and 2yrs ago I had a full tummy tuck with muscle reconstruction..everthing just like you describe..Let me tell you that a c-section is more painful than the tummy tuck and the reason for that is because with a c-section the insicion is all the way...meaning your muscles are cut, you have very little freedom to move and even on medication it does hurt..I would say raiting the situations in pain b/t 1-10 10 being worst,...I rate tummy tuck at a 4 and c-section 9-10..
