Anyone who Foster's children in Texas?

We're looking at fostering or possibly adopting. We live in Bedford, Texas (DFW area). I went to the website but some of it is overwhelming and confusing. Are there any yahoo groups or any groups period for fostering/adopting?

I live in Texas and have also thought about adoption...I did do some research and found many negative things about Texas agencies.  The laws are just awful.  Texas will take your children away in a heart beat and give them back to their birth family even after they promise you the child and you have raised them for many years. I read about several cases like that and you see it on the news often.  Also, they are very awful at follwing up with children in foster homes...so chances are they are being abused by their foster parents as well...this of course would lead a child to have trust issues and then you would come and adopt them....hard!! Anyway, I belive you have to whole heartedly want to adopt or foster and read all the fine print on the contracts..etc.

My friend from texas was a foster mom to 5 teenage girls and  her kids were taking from her because one of the 16 year old girl went out the window and went to sleep with a guy down the street and after 2 months told her what she had done and since my friend didn't tell cps on the girl she got in a lot of trouble. She even spent a night in jail. Why you ask one of the other girl told someone at school and then the girl that went out called rape on the poor guy and this is why the foster mother went to jail she had told the girl (she had wrote a note to one of the other girls in the home telling her about) the foster mom told her to get ride of it. All this was planned  by the girls. The police found the note and took the foster mom to jail for hidding eveidence. So the best bet for you in young children all of the same s*x.
