Anyone who has experiences time delays with the UK visa application at the New York consulate ?

I had submitted my application for a UK visa to the New York consulate about 10 days back. However, I haven't received any e mail from them confirming that they received the application. Nor have they sent any intimation of when they expect to approve the application. On the site they say that they take 5 days to process the application and yet here 10 days and no word from them. Anyone who has had a similar problem ?

No, mine went fairly quickly and thank goodness, because the visa/passport came back to me 3 hours before I left for the airport to fly to the UK!

Sorry we are full stay in your own country. By the way isnt it kinda obvious that they are trying to give you a hint.
