  4. victor frankenstein creates a monster. monster is ugly. noone likes monster. monster sees a family but doesn't approach them. he observes them for a while and learns to speak and everything from them. monster is very kind and generous. everyone hates and runs away from monster. one day monster decides to approach the family. the family run away and burn down their (cottage?). monster is heartbroken. he goes out to woods and saves a child life, but the father gets scared and shoots the monster. then monster starts to question life. he hates his creator Victor and the whole human race in general. then he decides to get revenge on victor by making him lonely and eliminating all his family and friends so victor can see how the monster feels like. the monster tried to reason with victor by telling him his tragic tale, even victor hates the monster. but victor promised to make another female monster for the monster so he wont be lonely. bu then victor thinks that if he makes the female, and she doesn't like the monster, the monsters would cause much violence on earth as pose as a threat to the human race. then victor dumps the female in the sea and that makes the monster go crazy. he will get his revenge on victor.

  5. the themes in the book will really make the book magic to you if you pick up on them. teachers will be really impressed with you too. here are some of the most important ones:

birth: the creation of the monster is a version of birth, a perversion in fact. the monster is a b*****d child, innocent when born and longing for a parental figure, which the doctor denies. the appearance of the creature further signifies god's superiority to man-the doctor's creation being ugly and imperfect while god's version of birth is more along the lines of beauty and miracle.

science versus the natural world: keep in mind the time the book was written. it was an age of knowledge; men were preoccupied with science to the utmost. shelley portrays science as it goes to far and reaches unnatural and perverted bounds. the doctor's infatuation with his experiments signify the negatives of the scientific man, as well as reflects the actual scientist of the time.

man versus god: the doctor is a classic example of man playing god. the calamitous consequences of this signify the perfection of god, and the imperfection and folly of man. frankenstein exceeds his human bounds, he crosses the line, and as a result ruins his own life and the lives of others.
