Question:

Anyone who has taken the Progesterone only pill (mini pill)?

I very recently stopped taking the combined pill because my body cannot handle the prosthetic oestrogen. I was given a prescription for the mini pill instead (Microlut) and was hoping you could share any of your own experiences - side effects, reliability, anything.

I am 20 years old, and am not breastfeeding - I am only taking it because I cannot take the combined pill and do not want to subject myself to the more invasive methods of contraception.

My partner and I are not planning to use any other form of contraception - how protected will I be from pregnancy?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated - I have looked up previous questions about the mini pill and they don't seem to get many answers.

  1. I took it with my daughter and I had really bad vaginal itching. Thought it was a yeast infection but nope it was one of the side affects of the pill that my doctor didn't bother to tell me about.

  2. I take them and honestly can't tell a difference between these and the regular pills I was on before. I didn't gain or lose weight, periods were regular, no side effects, and just as reliable. I haven't gotten pregnant in the last 7 months I've been taking them.
