I've taken lessons but at this point I have to self teach myself in my spare time do to a lot of things lol. I need help, how do you play a line like this, with three ?measures? I'm sorry I don't know the correct term, lol it's been awhile, anyway how would I play one with three like this http://www.bachlund.org/images/Alice_Five_3.gif

Would I play two lines with my right hand?

  1. The rhythmic patterns in the 16th notes each count as one beat.  The two lines really can't be played with the right hand realistically.  You'll have to use both hands.  Just keep practicing.  You'll get the hand of it soon enough.  Good luck with your music making.


  2. I assume you are referring to the second line of the music where a third staff is added.  The top staff is the melody line. It is the musical notation for the singer.  Generally, the piano plays only the bottom two lines, but if the vocalist needs their notes, the pianist can play both upper lines.  Hope this is understandable!!

  3. Your example is vocal music. The top line is what the vocalist sings, the bottom two lines are what you play. The very bottom is left hand, the middle is right hand. ♥
