Hi, I'm going to be visiting Ireland in 15 days for two weeks. A friend of mine works with a woman from Wales who introduced her to something called..... Fruit Pastilles and MilkyBar Buttons.....My friend is now obsessed with them. I'm planning on going to Wales for a day but in case I don't make it, is this something that is available in Ireland too? Does anyone have any idea of the cost of these items? I might just buy her a case of them and ship it back to her.

lol thanks!!

  7. I am the crazy friend that cesphotogher is getting the Milky Buttons and Fruit Pastilles for! You both have just made my day knowing that she can bring me bakc some when she comes home! My sister went to London last year, and brought me back some... the fact that I get more in just a few weeks makes me soooooo happy!! :) Thank you!!

  8. Yeah you can get them everywhere like every ones says.  I am a real candy specialist so there is other ones you should try while you are there and bring back for your friend to sample.  You have to have revels, they are a mixed bag of chocolate candies with different fillings and are soooooooooo good.  Also the crunchie bars are delicious (honeycomb covered in chocolate!)  Those were my 2 favorites.

  9. LMAO...!

    Ha...!

Don't fret. We have both fruit pastilles and Milky Bar buttons here. (in plentiful supply!!!)

(Milkybar is a white chocolate confection that is produced by Nestlé and sold in Australia, New Zealand, India, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Milkybar is also sold under the name Galak in Europe (except Spain, the UK and Ireland) and Brazil. (Nestlé also sells a completely different chocolate in Brazil under the Milkybar name). Nestlé have produced white chocolate since the 1930s, and started using the brand Galak in 1967. In many European countries a version with puffed rice is also available.)

    There ya go...!

    D.

  10. We have them here.

A word of warning when buying fruit pastilles though, make sure you read the pack and your buying pastilles and not wine gums. The packs are similar but the sweets are very different.

Ive often bought a pack of fruit pastilles only to discover they're actually wine gums and been bitterly disappointed.

  11. err...yea ur a lil crazy!! lol!! they are real popular wit de kiddies....they are mayb 90c?? maybe less....under a euro newyz....they are available in ireland!!

  12. They have them. English candy is great :) But you can get them in the states as well - any decent English or Irish import shop carries tons of candy from the UK. It's what an expat craves the most.

I don't like the pastilles - but the buttons are good. They are pretty cheap as it's just candy. I have never bought a case though. You are a kind friend indeed!

Edit - I have attached two sites that sell them in the US, not sure which is the correct brand.

  13. yep you can get them everywhere, cost between 60-85 cent

  14. lol yeah you can get them in basically any shop/garage in Ireland that sells sweets

They're both about 65cent each (i mean in Euro, not american Dollar btw)

(ahhhh....i love milkybars!!! now i want one!

    and the milkybar kid!!!)

Oh and just to let you know, the company that makes the fruit pastilles are called "Rowntree's"

The sweets are actually known as "Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles"
