Does anyone know what section of Victoria the real estate market is more modest in price? Which neighbourhood (sections) are the best neighbourhoods?

I've never been to Victoria but am thinking of moving there.

Do you love living there?

  1. It's a beautiful place to live. The Gorge district prob has the least expensive houses close to the centre.

  2. What do you consider modest?  What's your price?

Esquimalt, Gorge/Tillicum, or Hillside/Quadra areas are "modest" but I'd consider them on the inner city side.  Especially Esquimalt.

    Modest is about $400,000.

A good neighbourhood is about $500,000+.

Good neighbourhoods are Saanich East, Gordon Head, Camosum, Oak Bay (pricey), some areas of James Bay (pricey if close to ocean).

If you don't mind being 20 minutes out of the city the Sidney or Sooke are an option.  Langford is a booming community where housing is pretty cheap compared to Victoria.

You can always rent a house, rent is anywhere from $1400-$4000 a month!   If you go here you can browse the local classifieds.

You can buy a condo pretty cheap.  $200,000+ depending where

Living here is pretty good.  The weather is the number one reason.  Never too cold, generally not to hot.  No mosquitoes!!!

If you have any questions, I'll be checking back to this page.

  3. Go to mls.ca to search for real estate. Just enter price ranges and you'll see what houses sell for.
