I think that anyone who has a mature mind and is intelligent will have some sort of a hard time in high school. Please give me your opinions. Thanks.

("hard time" can be physical or psychological)

  1. Perhaps if he/she is odd or acts too mature.

Better enjoy and hang out with peers and friends.

Many intelligent people know how to choose to relate adequately, without appearing too perfect or adult to others.

  2. I think that a person like that might be resented by some other students. It would probably help a lot if that type of person is modest and tries to help others.

  3. umm yeaaah this is somewhat true

  4. not true.

I live in england and i would consider myself as quite intelligent, but I know how to have fun outside the classroom plus am nice to everyone.

I have fun with my "nerd" mates and are friends with basically everyone in my year except for the few bitchy ones that no one really likes.

Even the smart boys don't get bullied. I think nowadays people that struggle academically or just don't fit, are more prone to bullying.

In england, the term "nerds" isn't taken seriously any more because many smart people are popular. =D

  5. There is no correlation between being intelligent and getting high grades at school.

There is also no correlation between being intelligent and having a high degree of self-dicipline.

Simply anyone can achieve high grades if they work their *** off, but this isn't enough for intelligent people as they tend to get bored easily.

  6. It was Ok.  We had a smoking tree but they kept the girls way up on a hill and I had to stand there playing like the ground was interesting, taking a peek at their shoes.

  7. A lot of smart high schoolers are very popular.  It comes down to being well-rounded.....not sticking to a one-track mind.  In certain respects it's easier for the mature minded to have a lot of fun...they don't need to spend as much time trying to comprehend their studies as do the not-so-smart.  Just be well-balanced in your classes and activities....fun is part of it.

  8. I dunno if I had a hard time - but uni is a lot more enjoyable than any other school I've been to.  Purely for the fact you can / have to really think about things, rather than just learn what you're supposed to do and then do it  :-)

  9. It's very true.

The best thing to do is cultivate extra curricular activities and make some other like minded friends that way.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. I

t's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

  10. agreed. it changes in college.

  11. I'm looked at as the smart one in my class. I don't really have a hard time in school, except me. I'm very reclusive and usually stay by myself or some of my friends.

  12. It depends on the teachers the kid has.  Some teachers welcome those kinds of kids to help even out the classroom's intellect.  It especially helps if the smarter students have a sense of humor to go with it and aren't too serious all the time.  (Those serious ones are the ones I can't deal with.)  During class discussions, it's always a big help for the more mature students to speak up so the others can see different thought processes.
