Anyone with an early baby?

Question

Anyone give birth early, and if so, care to share how early, and how long was spent in the NICU if needed. Im expected to go in the next couple of weeks, hopefully not, but they are thinking its soon. I'm 33 weeks and 1 day now, I'm hoping for at least 34. I'm on procardia for contractions, but still having them. Not dilated, but I am 75% effaced and 90% when contracting. Hopefully he stays in longer.

My son was 6 1/2 weeks early and weighed almost 6 pounds very healthy little guy, some people say my due date must have been wrong, but Im quite sure it was right (not going into details). He is now 10 years old and still very healthy.

When i was pregnant they thought my son was going to come early. I was 28 weeks and they told me i was funneling. I think by 33 weeks i was dilated to a 1 and when i went into the hospital to have him i was dilated to a 3. I was on shots 1 a week and i also took the shots for his lungs incase he came early. I was on bedrest from 28 weeks on and had to get sonograms every week from then on also. The crazy thing is that they stoped the shots on me at 38 weeks and nothing happened. I was dialated to a 3 for almost a month and nothing was coming out after they stoped the shots. They ended up inducing me and then i had to have an emercency C section (which i think was because i got induced). NOW i have a happy healthy baby boy who is in the 90% and who was born on time. I made sure not to stress out and i think that helped my pregnancy a lot! I am sure everything will be fine with you as well. (When i was going through pre term labor i heard babies born after 28 weeks have a great chance and if they are over 2.5 pound they are going to be good.) GOOD LUCK!

Hello.Try to relax and sleep a lot,this can stop contractions.Get your partner to give you a massage and fall asleep while he is doing it.

I had my son at 30 weeks, he was 2lb 12oz. 15 inches. I had preeclampsia and high blood pressure. He had to stay in the nicu for a month and a half, to learn to eat and gain weight. He was only on the breathing machine for 24 hours, and the put me completely under to deliver him by c-section. They had to take him when they did, because his heart was in distress.

I hope you can make it to 34 too, just because any more time is always best.

my sister went through the same thing and she was on medicine to stop contractions and the day they took her off of the medicine her water broke she was 34 weeks pregnant and my niece was healthy she was small but healthy and she was only in the nicu for a week hope this helps!!

i had my son at 37weeks5 days everything was fine! ...... i went into early labor at 34weeks and they stopped it i was back in hospital at 37weeks5days had my son! best of luck & God bless
