Okay, I am going to keep this as short and simple as possible and want to know if there is someone out there who is having the same problem, or has any tips?!?!

I never have had any back pain of any kind in my life until about a year ago. I blame myself and the job I was doing for the now almost-unbearable pain that I get daily. I am in good shape, and am only 21 years old. I know it was due to bad lifting techniques at my job, but at the time it wasn't noticeable until about 4-5 months later...probably after bad posture and such. But, I can't sit, like right now I am sitting on a chair with the laptop in my lap and my mid-left side feels like a bone is trying to poke out or that muscle fibers are being stressed to the max. I have to stand up and try and pop it every 10 minutes, but it does nothing but get worse. I can't sit through a 2 hour movie it's the worst pain ever and people probably think I am a spaz because I am constantly changing positions. I've seen a chiropractor who says my back/spine is fine and that I should do physical therapy but I thought I would try some excersises on my own. I don't think it's fixable, I want to get an MRI but that's always the last option due to the pricing. My brother had back surgery at age 22 and my dad has had it as well. Ahh, it kills driving to it's terrible I can't drive longer then 45 minutes without having to stop. Also, when I smoked weed (which was extremely rare) it intensified the pain by like 40X which is weird!!! Any suggestions pleassssssssssssEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I would suggest seeing a physical therapist who is certified in mechanical diagnosis and therapy.  Treatment is usually brief and simple and focuses on showing you how you can correct the problem yourself.  MRI is not necessary unless you are having difficulty urinating, you have profound neurological weakness, you have a history of cancer, unusual presentation or are deemed to have an "irreducible" derangement upon examination. If you cannot be helped with conservative care, this will be known with a few short visits.
