We caught a bunch of trout in Colorado and will be traveling by train. The trip will take approx. 15 hrs. Then, there will be travel by car for 3 more hours. How much dry ice will it take for approx. 3 doz. fillets? The fish will already be frozen before the trip begins....

  1. 5 lb in a good cooler will be sufficient for the trip. Make sure to protect the fish from freezer burn! Use a fairly good layer of newspaper between the fish and the dry ice and place the fish at the bottom of the cooler with the dry ice on top.
