I was wondering if anyone knew of a good book or method of taking trying to care for a underactive thyroid without medication? I don't have ANY money for a doctor visit nor do I have insurance, so I figured that maybe I could get it under control myself since I was on a very low dosage when I was taking thyroid medicine, and I have been off it for 5 months right now and didn't really start having problems till the last few weeks. I know there are some good books out there, but I would like to have a recommendation from someone whose actually read them and benefited from the details in it.Thank you for taking the same to answer!

  1. I do!!  go to www.drberg.com and buy his book called 'The 7 Principles of Fat Burning'- it's all about getting your liver , thyroids, etc healthy.

  2. In summary

        * Hypothyroidism is common.

        * Symptoms develop gradually. They may be confused with other conditions.

        * Treatment with levothyroxine tablets is usually easy and effective.

        * Treatment is usually for life.

        * Have a blood test once a year if you take levothyroxine tablets once your dose has become stabilised.

    I strongly suggest that you visit a doctor!!!You have to take blood test and then the doc decides what you should take...I understand you are in troubles, but this is your health, more important than anything in the world...try to find some help for the payment!!!

    I wish you good luck and I hope you will be okay!!!

  3. You reject science and then expect it to solve your problems?

    Will your God not heal you, for faith can move mountains?

    Hehe, you're welcome :-)

  4. I don't really know, but I think that there are probably some people in the health/alternative medicine section who know.

    You might also do a search of previous answers about this.

    There are foods high in iodine, like kelp, which might help, but I am not sure.

  5. try  3 breathing  exercises   -  kapalbhati , anulom  vilom&  ujjayi. pl  google  it  for  the  technique.  it  cures  thyroid  abnormalities  fr  sure!

  6. God does not magically heal problems. God gives you strength to help yourself. He gave us humans the brain capability to understand sickness and learn medicine. There will not be some Divine Intervention here, use what God gave you, your brain.
