I hate you.

I hate your nose, your lips, your skin

Your ears, your teeth, the way you grin

Your laugh, your cry, your smile, your frown

The feelings you get and when you are down

Your scream, your sigh, your voice, your shout

I hate you from the inside out.

I hate it how you never believe

And when you act fake or really naive

I hate your lies, your truth, your innocence

When you’re selfish or beaming of ignorance

Your revenge, your jealousy, - your arrogance too

Everything about me hates everything about you.

I hate your fat, your veins, your bones

Your lungs, your breath, your thoughts, your tones

The food you eat, and the clothes you wear

The looks you give, and the traits we share

I hate your posture, and your pose

I hate you from head, right down to your toes.

I hate your guilt, your greed, your wants

Your stupid hair, the things you flaunt

Your deadened hope, your futile dreams

Your shadow, your footsteps, your eyes that gleam

I hate you so much, I wish you were gone

I hate the way we couldn’t get along.

What, to you, does this poem make you think of? What do you think the author is writing about?

  1. I may not understand the source behind this, I really do not have to after all.  Does it speak to me ?  Yes, it some way it does.  Would I read it again ?  Most likely not.

What does it bring to mind ?  A tantrum.  Absolute and total disgust.

The balance in the 3rd & 4th stanza is pleasing, where the first, fifth and sixth lines all begin with "I hate", then lines 2, 3, 4, begin with another word.  It would be nice if the entire poem had been constructed in the same manner.

  2. I feel like the person is in denial and actually completely and totally in love...I mean, how else would they have thought this much about someone?

To be honest, it just really reminds me of '10 Things I Hate About You.'

  3. the poem's got it..nice rhyming of the words..the words are expressive too..yet..the tone seems to reflect too much grimness, violence and evil..it's like the author hates the world..everybody ..with no reason at all..he is either envious or just a real war freak..frankly, i can't get any sense on as to why write a poem about someone you absolutely and terribly HATE???

  4. The poem is full of hate which is negative. Please add sentiments  and       +ve components
