The veteran tactician claims that the Premier League is far from decided at this point and urged his troops to focus ahead of their crucial run-in.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has always been a proponent of playing it safe and while his troops have performed magnificently so far, the former Aberdeen boss has urged them to keep things together until they actually have the trophy in their midst.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 both have been integral in the club’s superior run of form so far and with goals by the dozen, it’s no wonder that even Manchester City with their embarrassment of riches are struggling to match the 19-time English champions.
Furthermore, United are in contention for F.A Cup and UEFA Champions League glory as well, after progressing through to the latter stages of both the competitions.
And with their arch-rivals struggling to break down a resilient QPR in their last outing, the Reds are seven points clear at the top and look certain to capture the English title once more.
Ferguson and his players face a tricky trip to Fulham today and although the club are favourites to emerge with a win, the trainer has urged his squad to stay grounded and focus on the task at hand rather day dreaming about lifting silverware in May.
"It's very tempting to think about being 10 points clear. But the most important thing is to keep our feet on the ground and try and win our game at Fulham. Then we'll see where that takes us. There's a long way to go. Fourteen games. A lot can happen.”
Continuing, the long-serving United manager also claimed that the title race was always uncertain and there was no telling who would eventually come out on top.
"Nobody's a certainty in this league - they never have been. We were 11 points clear of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 one year and lost the league. We were 12 points behind Newcastle one year and won it. It's an unremitting league. If you make mistakes you get punished. It could
go to goal difference again and that's an issue,” Ferguson was quoted as saying.
