I was told i had arthritis in knee, bone spurs and extra water in my knee by my doctor. My doctor told me this at 17 and did not seem concerned at all. Pain is Very bad at time and feeling like its about to give out and have been wearing braces with hinges is there anything else i could do? Would knee replacement help?

  1. ~ hi ~! It sounds like you're dealing with a lot of pain in your knee. I also have arthritis in my left knee (I believe it as a result of knee surgery I had as a teen). But, it was just a ligament surgery. I have yet to consider knee replacement.

It sounds like you have a lot going on with your knee. Are you currently seeing an Orthopedic specialists that specializes in knee issues? If you are and he is leaving you in so much pain, I would say it's time to search for another specialist - one that will take a more proactive role in the issues your experiencing.

I'm not saying surgery is your only option, but there my be other options that will help manage the pain.  Here is a great site that talks about non-surgical option (these might be suggestions you find useful):

I hope you get answers and relief from the pain. =)

  2. Um..

It helps to stay moving or the arthritis gets worse..

my grandmother just sits all day and hers is really bad.

Try going to a different doctor is your didn't seem too interested, though i'm sure if it was that bad then your doctor would have said something.

If you are really conserned then go back and dont take no for an answer
