Anyway to remove rust from a small dolphin statue??

well i got this small dolphin statue that pretty much looks like this

well i liked it a lot and it had a little dust on it, so for some stupid reason i cleaned it with windex. it use to be a nice kinda silver color now a few days after i used windex on it the color started to get all dark, weird brown spots, and shiny light blue spots too..lol its weird, idk wat i did wrong, and idk if its rust. is there anyway to make it go back to how it used to look like?

if the statue is brass or copper try brasso but it might take off the burnished look from the statue and it will end up all shiny
