  1. You could always...tumble...on the floor?

I like to do this thing, where I have a fouton against the wall and I run and tumble onto it.

Except one time I kicked a hole in the wall.

  2. Find a clear, big space in your home.

Push everything out of the way.

Practice in the center, away from everything.

  3. i don't recommend doing this too often on hard surfaces without a trained professional spotter.

By tumbling without a trained spotter, you run an even greater risk of injuring yourself, but I assume you know that.

The is no absolute when it comes to saftey with tumbling,

however one of the safer methods of practicing your tumbles is by way of a trampoline. it may provide you with a bit more spring than you would with the average tumbling track. and there's also a lot less room for your stunts. but a trampoline would be the safest way to go.

Try for the biggest one your space (and wallet) will allow.

plus, trampolines are fun even when you're not tumbling, so it's kind of like a double duty type thing. :) Have fun, and please stay safe.

  4. clear anything in the area so it's clear and practice the basics.

if you want to do any combination tumbling like a round off tuck

you should go outside with a spot that knows what they're doing or go to your gym
