Anywhere in California where I can swim with sharks?

Rather it be in an aquarium or on a tour, I'd love to know of any places in California where I could go to swim with sharks. No cage dives.

What I preferably would want to do is spend 1-3 days all together. The ideal experience for me would be getting able to stay on a boat and go out just watching great whites while they chum the water etc... And then the next day actually getting a chance to swim with sharks, not great white of course. Preferably whale sharks though.

Does anyone know of any places in California where I could possibly do this? If not in California, can I get some websites etc.. That are either in the western area of USA and mexico please.

  1. Try the Ocean!

  2. West of San Francisco are the Farallon Islands.  You can get on a boat people take to go deep sea fishing.

The Farallon's are INFESTED with Great Whites as the Great White's favorite food, seals, live in abundance at the Farallons.  There are so many Great Whites that researchers often go to the Farallons for study of the sharks.

Occasionally, a couple of Great Whites will swim toward the shore and there have been many sightings and attacks at a beach North of San Francisco in Marin County.  The name of the beach is Stinson Beach.  There are also many shark sightings at Dillon Beach.  Both are only a few miles North of the Golden Gate Bridge.

If your goal is to get your name in the newspaper for being bitten or killed, you've chose the correct path.

  3. I would say there are probably places that offer something like this up in northern california.
