Question:

Anywhere to get a Peace Corps application???? ?

I'm only a sophomore in highschool but I'd really like to get my hands on a copy of the application!! Just to use as "inspiration" and so that I can see exactly what kinds of skills and things I need to be learning and focusing on.

The problem is that on the website you have to be eighteen even to ACCESS the application, and I would just fake it, but they ask for your address and everything, and I just don't feel comfortable lying about it. I don't want my name on file under some other birthday. Anywhere else I can get it, online or not??

Thanks so much for your help!

  1. Oklahoma State University offers tips on the application here:

Here's another web site that details the application process and offers advice for such:

    http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/peac...

This web site will help you pursue skills, studies and experiences that will make you an attractive PC candidate some day:

  2. you can apply directly at

    http://www.peacecorps.gov

It is a typcial application, they prefer college graduates and are also looking for teachers and medical professionals, those with some agricultural and architectuarl background .  They will ask about your jobs held, other volunteer projects you have done, a clear background check, clear credit and no outstanding loans, your health record etc.  You will need references as well

You could also fill it out and not hit the sumbit button too.

  3. You could call a recruiter, either via the national 1-800 number, or in a large city near you, explain exactly how old you are and ask what sort of skills seem to be growing in demand. That way you wouldn't waste 43 pages of government paper and you'd still know.

Engineering, teaching English as a second language and health are always best sellers.

    The RPCV association

will sell you a mug or a subscription to a magazine if you want something to inspire you.

    Best wishes!
