  1. The effect it has on them is that it gives them an opportunity to be acknowledged for the service that they gave to the country. it is our time to thank them, and it means a lot to them. they receive mixed emotions, usually it is very difficult for them to recall those memories that so many of them have been trying to store away and never look at again. ANZAC day hurts many people extremely deeply, some hate looking back on events that changed their lives forever, however some look back on it with positivity, and feel proud that they served our country. we should always remember to store them in our highest of affections because if it wasn't for them the Australia today, would definitely not be right! i hope this helps.

  2. I'm the granddaughter of a ww2 veteran and you will be hard pressed finding someone that will actually talk about it on a personal level as there is so much emotion involved. They lost their mates, brothers cousins and people they held close in their lives not to mention the sheer pain they went through not knowing if they would live or die from day to day. a lot of them ended up with a substance abuse problem, insomnia or permanent hearing loss, and that's just a bit of it.. Anzac day is an extremely hard time for everyone involved, and if you lost someone or your family did, then you will come to learn that. i suggest you grab a couple of books or google it, because the more you read and see, the more it will hit home for you too.  GOOD LUCK

  3. There are no ANZACs left - the last ANZAC died in 2002.

It is now a day of remembrance and holds special significance for the families of those who fought and died.

I believe it to be Australia's most important day.
