  1. I have to agree with the first answer obviously they are going to mention Australia and not NZ as much and I bet it was the same in NZ, stop sooking...

  2. new zealanders celebrates this day in new zealand and i bet australia wasnt mentioned too much there

each country celebrates it their way

  3. I'm sorry you were annoyed by a perceived slight against your country.

I'll grant you emotions run very high and you seem to be no exception.

You must have been watching coverage different to the coverage I watched.

The only coverage which had little to say about New Zealand, that I saw, was the Dawn Service from Villers Brettoneaux and it was supposed to be more about the Australians in World War One.

At our local dawn service both anthems were played and New Zealand was mentioned as much as Australia.

As was mentioned previously looks like you were on the wrong channel.

One thing though, every time anyone says ANZAC they are mentioning New Zealand.

Without all the brave New Zealanders it would be AAC.

  4. It all depends where you were watching the coverage, if you are here in Australia then the media is geared for Australians.  I bet if you where in NZ on ANZAC day then I would suspect that there would have been more reference to New Zealand's part in the war.  We Aussies all know that our Tasman cousins - New Zealanders, were just as part of the war as us.

I went to Gallipoli for ANZAC day in 2003 and enjoyed sharing lunch with some New Zealanders who we meet over there.  I also know that some Aussies went to the New Zealand service after the Aussie service at Lone Pine, so again we do recognise the New Zealand participation.

  5. So I imagine in NZ it was all about NZ too ,get over it ,you are not a state of Australia we do not need to molly coddle NZ

  6. I have to agree with the general consensus, we mention Australia because this is Australia as much as it appears that you think or wish that New Zealand is a part of our great country*sarcasm* I am sure that in NZ your main focus was on your own history and your own troops.

The Gallipoli Dawn Service, if you watched that at all was pretty much half and half with it being MC'd by some New Zealand presenter. I guess next time turn the channel.

  7. The media coverage doesn't extend to small places like the one I went to in NSW last Anzac Day (in 2007) and heard both Aust & NZ national anthems, and NZ was mentioned too. Sorry you were upset, but the media don't represent all of us.
