  1. We always  start ANZAC day by attending our local dawn service, for me its a way to remember my grandfather who died as a POW during WW2.  Later this morning we will attend the march.  Always it is an opportunity to teach my daughter about the realities of war, especially the huge cost in human terms.

For those insulting individuals who think this is just a day off, or in any way glorifies war, think again!!  ANZAC day is about love and respect for the sacrifices they made so that we could have a life of freedom.  It is also a chance for those who never got to say goodbye to remember those they have loved and lost.

  4. no my family doesn't get that into it.

  5. Anzac day is observed in a number of places. While a solemn day for most it does vary a little bit. Here's an article on the subject

  6. Dawn Service with the family.

    Family bbq breakfast.

Then the family go their own way, RSL etc and meet up with friends.

Personally, I like to watch the Gallipoli Dawn Service and this year I also watched the service from Villers Bretoneaux.

I get a little emotional on Anzac Day too.

  7. Dawn Service.

    ANZAC Day March.

ANZAC House or if your not in Perth, then your local RSL Hall for a round of drinks and "Two Up".

  8. anzac day service and then some people go back to the RSL and have a few drinks and play two up
