The 65-year-old thanks Suleyman Kerimov upon joining Anzhi Makhachkala and assured the fans of helping the Dagestani club win the Russian Premier League.
Guus Hiddink had been plotting a pathway to the Russian Premier League for months and he has succeeded to replace the former Anzhi Makhachkala head coach, Yuri Krasnozhan, at Makhachkala stadium yesterday.
He has reportedly signed a two-year contract with the Dagestani club on a whopping 10 million Euros annual salary.
Given that Kerimov had earlier expressed his desire to claim a UEFA Champions League spot this term, the level of expectations with the former Real Madrid manager are certaibly high. As things stand, they are 6 points adrift of
the last European spot.
The Dutch tactician was recently sacked by the Turkish national football team after his failure to guide them to Euro 2012 finals. However, his track record at club level has been impressive despite the latest setback.

Hiddink revealed that the Dagestani club’s strategic consultant, Herman Tkachenko, visited him in Amsterdam and revealed the interesting project to him.
He admitted that he had made up his mind but a sudden change of management at Makhachkala stopped him from joining the Russian outfit.
He went on to praise Kerimov, revealing that the Russian billionaire wants to develop a youth academy for future prospects.
