Anzhi Makhachkala head coach, Guus Hiddink, has expressed his satisfaction after the Dagestani club managed to retain third spot on the Russian Premier League table despite their 0-1 defeat in the final league game of the season against Kuban Krasnodar on
Sunday.
The host team managed to score an early goal at Kuban stadium (Krasnodar) after putting early pressure on Hiddink’s men. The visiting side looked less desperate to claim a point knowing that neither a defeat nor a win will affect their standings.
Anzhi finished the season at the third place on the league table with 53 points while Kuban finished at the sixth spot with 51 points behind fourth placed Spartak Moscow due to goal difference.
The Dutch tactician congratulated the Krasnodar-based club after they managed to secure European qualification for the first time in their career, saying that the Russian outfit will experience something different in the European tournament.

The former Real Madrid coach was quoted as saying.
Anzhi managed to reach the round-of-16 of the European cup after defeating the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 before suffering a narrow 0-1 defeat against Newcastle United in the pre quarter-finals.
The Dagestani club, meanwhile, reached the Russian Cup final after claiming crucial wins against the teams such as Krylia Sovetov Samara, Dynamo Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg respectively.
Anzhi will now play the final game of the campaign against CSKA Moscow at Terek Stadium next month. Hiddink assured the fans of playing quality football in the final fixture against the Moscow-based club.
