Anzhi Makhachkala’s Samuel Eto’o denies money motives behind his Russian Premier League move
Anzhi Makhachkala striker, Samuel Eto’o, has blasted all the critics suggesting his summer move from Inter Milan was primarily based upon his never ending hunger for money.
After signing him on a three-year contract with an annual salary of 20 million Euros, the Wild-Division have now made Samuel Eto’o the highest paid player in the history of football.
The former Real Madrid forward said:
“In every interview I'm reminded about the salary. I arrived in Russia not because of money. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 were also paying me good sum of money. Of course, it is foolish to deny that this new period in my career will be
very beneficial economically, yet I am inspired by the idea of helping the Russian club to reach a higher level.”
Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 suggested that Anzhi were tempted to loan out the 30-year-old back to San Siro. Eto’o has now revealed that he had a wonderful time at the Italian club and insisted that he is not planning a reunion with the Serie
A club at the moment.
The Supercoppa Italiana winner went on to admit that he is happy playing in the Russian Premier League, insisting that his initiative to move to the Russian outfit was based primarily on his thirst for diverse football experience.
“Players of my level are offered simply incredible conditions here. I feel very comfortable here and I have no complaints at the moment.” Eto’o concluded.
The Cameroonian has been a stand-out performer for the Russian outfit in the recent games, scoring seven goals in his nine league appearances. Eto’o is of the opinion that he has all attributes to shine at the Dagestani club and
there is more to come from him in the near future.
Anzhi Makhachkala are at the eighth spot on the league table and will take on the league leaders, Zenit St. Petersburg, in the opening league match of the third round after the winter break.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 striker is of the opinion that Anzhi have invested wisely and urged the fans for patience before the Dagestani club start winning trophies in the near future.
