Anzhi Makhachkala assistant manager, Andrei Gordeyev, has lavished praise on the Dagestani club’s performances in the first-half of the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign and advised them to find consistency when the season
restarts in March.
As things stand, the Makhachkala-based club are at the 2nd spot on the league table and trail the top of the table by just two points.
Gordeyev went on to hail Guus Hiddink, who joined the Russian outfit earlier this summer, saying that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC coach has turned the tables and justified his role at the hot seat.
The Russian manager revealed that Anzhi are having a fantastic season and gave example of their league position, their Russian Cup progress and their successful European campaign until now.
The mega rich Dagestani club will now lock horns with Dynamo Moscow in the quarter-final of the prestigious cup tournament, having knocked down FC Krylia Sovetov Samara out of the competition in October.
And there is little arguing to the statement that the Russian outfit are considered favourites to win the round-of-16 against Hannover 96, the first leg of which will take place at Dynamo stadium (Makhachkala) followed by the return
leg in Germany.
“I think our performance level was fine and I think we have done a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 despite playing a lot of games this season. And while we are nearing the top league spot, continuing well in the domestic and European cup, I think the
season can be called as a success.”
“I know that the championship is not over yet but it is clear that we are moving in the right direction and we want to develop further.”
“I think the vast experience of our head coach will allow us to come prepared for the European games.” The former Saturn Moscow boss was quoted as saying.
Gordeyev warned his side against complacency and urged them to prepare well for the tough European clash against German opponents.
