Yuri Zhirkov hails Guus Hiddink’s appointment at Anzhi Makhachkala and admitted that the Russian outfit will challenge for major trophies in the near future.
Anzhi Makhachkala appointed the former Chelsea FC manager, Guus Hiddink, on a two-year contract, last week. The Dutch tactician replaced the Russian second national team head coach, Yuri Krasnozhan, at Makhachkala stadium, despite

The Dagestani club were rumoured to appoint the former England boss; however, they failed to convince Capello to coach the ambitious Russian outfit. Anzhi, meanwhile, turned their attention to Hiddink after losing out on Capello.
Anzhi defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuri-Zhirkov-c37683, has praised Hiddink’s appointment and shrugged off the reports suggesting that the resignation of Krasnozhan has led to a dispute in the locker room.
Hiddink’s agent confirmed that Anzhi players, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Carlos-c31317 and Samuel Eto’o, forced the club president, Suleyman Kerimov, to sign his client and sack Krasnozhan. However, Zhirkov revealed that he is unaware of the situation and
went on to admit that he respect the decision made by the management.
“In football anything can happen. I can assure you that Krasnozhan’s resignation has not affected the team.
“During my career I have played with different coaches, so I was not surprised with what happened at the Makhachkala-based club. I can adopt to any requirement.” The FA Cup winner was quoted as saying.

He revealed that the training methods have become more intense since the arrival of Guus Hiddink. Zhirkov admitted that the entire squad is glad to have the Dutch manager at the club.
“We are becoming more disciplined. The squad has started to come on time at the training ground. The training is becoming lively with every day. Everyone knows Hiddink’s value and I don’t think I need to tell about him.” The UEFA
