Vyacheslav Malafeev has insisted that CSKA Moscow are the favourites to win the Russian Premier League title at the moment and has discussed Dynamo Moscow’s problem
Fate smiled at Anzhi Makhachkala as the big spending Russian Premier League club managed to lead the standings in the Russian championship after winning their latest game 2-0 against Dynamo Moscow at Arena Khimki on Sunday.
However, Zenit St. Petersburg’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vyacheslav-Malafeev-c36502 believes that it is still too early to make assumptions about who will win the league title this season.
The 33-year-old has insisted that the Makhachkala-based club will find it difficult to retain the top-spot as their counterparts will become more active to notch the leading spot from their hands as the season progresses.
Malafeev revealed that the Dagestani club have spent too much money on new signings and are likely to finish at a decent spot on the league table.
Anzhi made remarkable signings as famous players such as Samuel Eto’o, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212 all joined the ambitious Russian outfit during the last two years.
The Dagestani club, meanwhile, signed a world class coach in Guus Hiddink during the winter transfer window. Malafeev credited the Wild-division to make bold steps in order to make things better for themselves in the Russian top
division.
“Good players, balanced composition and an experienced coach, what else do you want? I think it all depends on the competition whether they win it this season or not.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
While talking about Dynamo Moscow, Malafeev insisted that the Moscow-based club are struggling due to lack of confidence. However, he hoped that that the struggling Russian outfit will get back on track as the season progresses.
“Dynamo will climb up sooner or later.” He concluded.
As things stand, the White-blues are at the 14th spot on the league table and trial the league leaders by 17 points.
Malafeev reflected that CSKA Moscow are playing quality football at the moment and there’s no doubt they can challenge for the league title if they can find consistency in their performances.
