Narvik Sirhan is expecting a capacity crowd in the upcoming Russian Premier League tie between Anzhi Makhachkala and Zenit St. Petersburg at Stadion Dynamo
Anzhi Makhachkala Deputy General Director, Narvik Sirhan, has talked about how the Dagestani club is preparing for the much anticipated Russian Premier League tie against Zenit St. Petersburg on Sunday.
Anzhi have managed to claim two wins and a draw before suffering their first ever defeat in the ongoing league campaign. The Dagestani club moved down to the 7th spot on the league table after recording a 1-0 defeat
against CSKA Moscow last week.
Zenit, on the other hand, are unbeaten in the league so far. As things stand, the defending champions atop the league table.
Sirhan has admitted that it will be a difficult challenge for them to play against the St Petersburg club at the moment while they are in a process to sign new players. He urged his side to work harder, stating that the upcoming
match will be a test of their nerves.
The Makhachkala-based club failed to claim any point against the same opposition, the last time when these two sides face each other last season. Sirhan said that the squad is shaping up well and they will come stronger this time
around.
“Anzhi’s upcoming contest with the reigning champions will be great. According to our estimates, the stadium will be jam packed. We are expecting quite a large group of fans from St. Petersburg as well.”
“The vast majority of our fans has always been famous for the adequacy of the behaviour and hospitality. Of course, Dagestan cheerleaders support their team passionately, but that's fine. We have great tradition and I would like
to build on that.” Sirhan was quoted as saying.
The general director admitted that he knows that some fans are worrying about yellow grass in some areas of the field. However, he assured the fans of taking good care of the matter, telling them that the grass turned yellow due
to heat.
Sirhan went on to warn the visiting fans of any misconduct or an inappropriate behaviour, telling that it will spoil the game rather than benefit their team in any case.
