Apart from fish are there any other animal mothers which eat their own offspring?

praying mantis' eat their mates and their young.  I believe there are some snakes that will eat their young.  I know there are other animals that do, but i cannot think of any at the moment.

I think mother cats do if their offspring is retarded or mental or something. Im not sure if they eat it or kill it or what. But they do something of that nature. (kinda depressing)

Well this isn't exactlly what related but it does have something to do with eating the familly up.

A female Black Widow spider eats her mate after they've finished having s*x. Hence the name Black *Widow* spider
