Question:

Apart from not drinking how can i avoid getting hangovers?

i always drink loads of water before i go bed and i always have something eat but nothing ever seems to work its not fair im the only person i know who gets them :(

  1. I always eat something and take two aspirin with a lot of water before going to bed, then I repeat the process in the morning and I usually feel just fine.


  2. take 2 ibprofen before you go to bed on the night you were drinking. It's not good for your liver, but neither is the alcohol so who cares at that point.

  3. "No Hang" is the only anti-hangover pill that works in my experience (I've tried 4 or 5). They sell it at the Vitamin Shoppe. Also google it, you can buy it directly from them. You should check it out.

    When my local Vitamin Shoppe ran out, the Asian woman at the counter told me to drink coconut milk.

  4. Don't mix the type of alcohol, I always just stick to vodka as I know it never gives me a hangover. I've heard different people say they never drink a certain type of alcohol (for my friend its vodka) as it gives them a hangover, so try drinking other stuff to find something which works better for you!

  6. Drink only vodka and mixer. Don't drink cheap vodka either. Must be distilled at least 3 times and filtered.

    Also drinking lime cordial will help.

    And then if you're still hung over drink a Bloody Mary in the morning (thats Tomato Juice, Tabasco, Worcester Sauce and Vodka)

  7. I agree with the person who said an alkaseltzer. 1 tablet in glass of water before going out and one befrore bed.   DO NOT TAKE PARACETOMOL (TYLENOL). THERE HAVE BEEN CASES OF PEOPLE DYING FROM LIVER FAILURE BY TAKING TYLENOL WHO DRINK

    Also, there is a product called coconut water (not coconut milk, totally different) that is loaded with potassium. One of those before going out also or before bed would help.   8. Alternate soft & alcoholic.

    Drink plenty of water when you get home & paracetamol.

    My auntie swears by taking an antacid before she goes out!

    Than hangover is caused by dehydration.. so whatever you can do to rehydrate yourself will be successful.

  10. aside from bread and plenty of water before bed, you can try one of those anti hangover pills they sell at GNC.

  11. nurofen plus!before bed and wen u wake up with a couple of pints of water.

    Also avoid caffeine in the day as this dehydrates your body and will make your hangover worse.

    Remember hangover means dehydrated so drink water, eat lots of fruit and take the nurofen!!

    Finally, if possible, but most likely not, try to locate an Okinawan root medicine called "ukon." Not only does it protect your liver but it could help prevent hangovers.

  15. Drink a lot of water EVERYDAY..not after you drink.

    It doesn't work if the alcohol already in your system.

    Drink water before you drink and in between now and then.

  16. Take a resolve before bed, its a re-hydration powder you put in a glass of water. Its available at most super markets or chemists.

  17. I'd echo the water advice - but I start drinking water at the club once I feel I've 'drunk enough'. Stops you drinking too much, having a hangover and saves you money.

  18. I always find that if I don't drink different types of drinks I won't feel rough the next day.. so stick to beer, or wine not both.

  19. hangovers alot of times are cause dy too much sugar, so if you drinks alot of sugary drinks, switch to beer, or vodka tonics something like that.  an ib profen with a few tums never hearts either the next day

  21. First start by eating before you drink. Then, between each alcholic drink take half a pint of water. Alchol is absorbed through the stomach into the bloodstream. A hangover is caused purely by dehydration. If you balance what you drink with regular intervals of water (and start with food in your stomach which will restrict the absorbtion of alchol straight into your bloodstream) you should be ok. Also as suggested above try not to mix your drinks. Stay with a white spirit and mixer.

  22. Drink plenty of water before you go to bed.  Have something to eat when you get up and a couple of Anadin Extra.
