Apartment in San Marco area of Venice?

Question

I am taking 5 friends to Venice and I want specifically to stay in the San Marco area. I visited briefly before on an extended weekend and I loved the bars and restaurants etc in that area. Does anyone know if there is a way I can rent an apartment in that area. I am thinking of staying for either 7 or 10 days. Thank you!

The Sciavoni apartments on this site sleep 6 and are very close to San Marco. There are San Marco apartments also, but two double bedrooms.

There is a fellow who has a B&B with three bedrooms (each with its own bathroom too!) to let in his 5 bedroom home in the San Marco. It's got a great big kitchen, terrace and "altana" (a terrace on top of the building). The apartment is a 4 floor walk up and worth every step of the way because it puts you on top of the city – you can see the back side of the cupolas of the Basilica, the Lido and tops of much of the city. The light is great and the evenings are lovely. I get no cut in this – just want to share what was for me a magical experience in a Venetian home.
