Apartment question... please help!?

I live in Northern California and it can get very pricey when it comes to housing. In my situation, I need to get an apartment that allows dogs but doesn't cost to much. How do I get one? Where do I start? Where should I look? Please help! Thanks in advance.

Good luck if you mean by dogs two or more, also what size the larger the dog the harder it will be, also the breed of dog factors in as well

but there are landlords that will allow dogs but since they know they are the minority plan on paying a premium
