  1. To add onto the first comment, Ottawa seems to be extremely expensive. I have lived in every province in Canada and the cost of living in Ottawa is much higher then I expected for such a small city.

  2. As with most areas, prices and quality range and vary depending on what area of town you choose to reside.

That being said, you'll have trouble finding anything less than 800 per month for a 2 bedroom apartment.

If you want a nice, big apartment close to downtown, expect to pay at least 1300 dollars a month. Personally, I'd look in the outer areas (Nepean, Ottawa South, Orleans) for a nice apartment for the 1000 price range.

  3. Yes Ottawa is expensive but very clean, courteous city and what's great about it it's share the border with quebec, and apartments on quebec side are more affordable(2bedrooms 750 to800$) and they are huge if you compare to ottawa apartments if you are a student or a new family ,you can stay in quebec and still go to work or shopping in ottawa.really 15mn to 20mn

  4. Sure, I can help you.  I'm In Ottawa.

First of all, you get what you pay for.

Stick with a Building owned by a Co.

    A one-bdrm is approx. $850 a month, but usually

clean, carpeted,(your choice) and with on-site mgt.  Some even

    have pools.

2 Bedrooms go for about $900 -1200 per month,

again, depending on what you want.

If you stay with a big corp. you're better off.

Some in the above range have on-the-floor laundry, pools

    And dishwashers, also.

Ottawa's a nice, safe, clean city!
