Apartments near the Academy of Art University??? Am making the move to SF next week...

... yet I'm still running on options from CraigsList.com. Anyone who lives in San Francisco, I'd really appreciate it if you can point out some good apartments around the city. As long as the rate isn't higher than $1600, I'd settle for it, as I'm only staying for around a year before moving to LA.

I'm NOT from the US. The only 2 places I've lived in are Indonesia & Australia. What matters most for me is finding a place in a diverse & friendly neighborhood but it's still close enough to the Academy of Art. Right now, I have the Oakwood Apartment on my list, but I'd also like to look up other places.

Academy o'f**t is all over the place, so "near" it doesn't narrow things down much.

If your main campus is going to be on New Montgomery, you could look for someplace close to the BART line; the Montgomery station is about three blocks away.    

You could probably find something in the Mission area, or even Daly City.
