Aphids found on kitchen plants - removed - what about fruit in my kitchen? aphids on windows? etc?

I took in a plant and discovered it had aphids, which quickly infested the other nearby plants - the plants have been moved for aphid removal. These plants were sitting on a window sill. I found them on the sill also - and quickly cleaned up the whole area with a vinegar/water mix. If I missed any, WILL aphids infect my nearby FRUIT (bananas, apples) AND can aphids survive on the sill without a plant? on my counter? on my dish towel? Is it okay now???

  1. Not sure how long they live on windowsills but you probably got them all.

Also, in the future, you can get them off your plants with a solution of about a teaspoon of dish detergent mixed with about a quart of water and pour it over your plant.  The soap is mild enough to not harm the plant but harsh enough to kill the aphids.
