  1. apply antiseptic cream & take your antibiotics & pain killers. Wait & watch for 3-4 days. It will heal or go back to your dentist.

  2. I've had the same procedure - it's not pleasant! Try rinsing your mouth with hot salt water several times a day (natural cleansing and healing - but DON'T swallow!). You might also find the Corsodyl mouthwash (for gum problems) helpful - it's not cheap, but effective. I found with my procedure, some of the 'gunk' was tiny particles of tooth/root working their way out before full healing. Good luck, and hope you feel better soon

  3. If your wound is healing the way it should then you wouldn't have that funny taste in your mouth or have the pain.  So, no I don't think you're paranoid at all.

Call the dental office where you had the procedure done and explain the situation.  The dentist really needs to take a look at the wound to see if it needs to be drained.

If you can't get in to see your dentist today, go to the nearest walk in clinic for an evaluation.  The physician there can start you on some antibiotics until you can be seen by your dentist.  Good luck.
