Apophis and it's chances

please give me the facts and chances of Apophis and the goodnews

YEAH SCORE ONE FOR not dieing in a fiery mess while the earth runs around and screaming with their hands on their head. I always did hate over dramatics.

Please if we are all going to die, have some dignity for Petes sake, dress up have a wonder final meal show some decorum..

Ok...

Apophis... Yeah it will probably come close maybe a real close shave.. But rumor has it its mostly made of liquid,

and MANY of the last asteroids to hit disintegrate entering the atmosphere..

Now coupled that with evaporating liquid and firey masses burning out, if it should hit I might be like a mass of pebbles hitting and cracking my windsheild.

Closer than a plane, is it a star, a plane NO ITS ASTEROID APHOHIS.

So nah I'm not worried about it.

They can't even locate many of the last asteroids that gave us close calls.

If it does and its cool, then we got something to talk about besides its REALLY cool name.

APOPHIS...

I'm not worried but I wish I knew you so I could sneak up behind you and whisper loudly OH NO I think I see apophis coming..

Man I love that name and the excitement.

I certainly don't have good enough state vector data on Apophis to say whether it's going to hit us or not. And, most likely, you know even less about it than I do. So don't fill your britches just yet.

this explains the difficulty in doing the predictions and says that the next "best" chance for a collision is in 2036, but even then the chance is less than 1 in 45000

As it gets closer we get more accurate data on its orbit and size and can make better predictions
