Question:

Apostille procedure for Marriage certificate for Spanish legalization?

Hi. Both me and my spouse reside in Canada and I have a job offer from Spain. I need to get our marriage certificate (from Punjab) to be legalized from the Spain embassy in New Delhi. What is the exact procedure? I understand that the certificate needs to be apostilled from MEA. But before that it must be done from administration in Punjab. Can someone tell from where? Any agents in Delhi who can do this job? Can someone (like my parents) on my behalf complete the process? Do I have to submit an authority letter?

How long does the whole procedure take?

  1. Firstly, is this a valid marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriages under the Hindu Marriage Act,1955 or any other Matrimonial Law applicable to you & under which you got married & issued from which district of Punjab in India? Yes this marriage certificate has to be first authenticated by the Home Department/General Administration Department from the place where it was issued & followed by presented to MEA for issue of Apostilles.

This whole process can be done on you behalf at shortest time but it will require traveling to Punjab to first get it authenticate from there & then get Apostillised from Delhi. If you can afford the cost of all this process you can contact me directly on my email :- vijay_mahajan5758@yahoo.co.in
