The Armenian international is still hopeful of one day returning to the Championnat and feels that he has the mentality and the quality to play regularly in Ligue 1
With his contract at Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv set to expire in June 2013, 26-year-old Armenian goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Apoula-Edel-c6409 has said that he will be keen on making a return to French football.
While talking to reporters earlier this September, the Tel Aviv custodian revealed that he was approached by a lot of Ligue 1 sides and is hopeful that he will return to the country where he played between 2007 and 2011 (Paris Saint-Germain).
“Yes, I have a lot of requests to return to France. I hope it will come true. I think I have the mentality and qualities to play in Ligue 1,” said the former PSG custodian who left Parc des Princes when they signed Nicholas Douchez from Stade Rennais last
year.
Despite being the club’s number one and helping his side to win the championship in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 where he feels that he will be more tested.
With his contract ending in June next year and his current club offering him a contract extension, Edel is not really keen on discussing his future with the capital club. And, there is a good reason for this as he is getting a lot of interest from Ligue
1 outfits including Paris Saint-Germain who will be left looking for a new understudy to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Douchez-c27810 opts to leave the club by the end of the current campaign.
He has been gone from the capital for just 18 months but might patch things up with the Ile giants. Furthermore, being a free agent at the end of the season (if he does not sign an extension) and knowing PSG well, Edel would indeed blend in with the surroundings.
“I regret leaving PSG, but the way it happened, I think I did not deserve it. If I had stayed, I would have had my place.”
However, a lot of ifs and buts surround Edel’s future with PSG so a move to Parc des Princes is far from a confirmed one.
