About four or five times a week I get the message come up server not found and I have to reboot the router to reconnect even though all the status lights on the router indicate everything is fine. It takes ages to reboot. I am running 1 PC connected directly to the router and 2 laptops via the wireless. The fault affects all the machines at once. I don't think I ever had the fault when I was connected via Tiscali but since changing to Talktalk it happens and Talktalk helpline is so expensive and they keep you hanging on while they "do a test" ie have a cuppa and run up the bill. I have on a couple of occasions got an error message on one of the laptops saying there is an IP address conflict with another machine on the network, but i don't know if this is relevant. Any ideas folks.

  1. Bloody h**l... that was a h**l of a technical post for a bear!

Sorry mate, no idea but I will star for you... keep your mankini on... but you could always consider a Mac!  : )

  2. You should move the router to the outside of your cave, or steal the signal from the beavers next door.

  3. Set it to a new more compatible frequency. There lies the problem.

  4. I am talktalk customer, but this happenes to the wireless or the whole system including the modem and the dsl?

If only the wireless or the modem then try to manage the cables, Radio frequncy interferance like cellular home phone(handheld phones) walki talkies, babies security systems. Also make sure the dsl cable that connects to the filter does not get strangel to the other wires on your home because its digital and can make data loose sometimes.

There is another method that makes confilict with the ip, are you using static ip address? I mean did you make your ip manually?

if not try to go to command prompt( Start, run and type cmd and enter)

Then type ipconfig /flushdns and enter

type again ipconfig /release and enter

type again ipconfig /renew and enter

only the computers that makes saying conflict.

    Good luck
