Appetizers: Who orders them?

Who here wants to have a meal before having the meal? I don't see why restaurants waste their time on appetizers. Does anyone here ever order an appetizer before their meal and if so, why? Does it reallyi make you hungrier, as the name implies?

Appetizers are usually better than entrees, because chefs feel entrees have to have a protein, a vegetable, and a starch, while an appetizer does not have to follow any rules. I find that they nearly always taste better than entrees. I usually order two appetizers for dinner, one after the other.
