Apple IPhone to cost 750USD in india ? why?

The apple iphone to be introduced in india is to cost 750USD for 8 gb and 830 USD for 16 gb . Its sold for 199USD in US ,Why is this price difference ?

that's because 199USD is only for the handset. In US you would continue to pay to AT&T and other providers usage fee as part of 2 years contract. This is somthing that you're probably not aware.

But yes, even then, the cost maynot be as high as in India which is (around Rs.31k and Rs.36k). but hey, every electronic item will have about 20%-30% price difference between India and US.

I think the information is not correct as iphone prices are slashed in us  also it ill b more cheaper in india.

is is not 750 usd but about 530 usd. the difference is becasue of transportation cost,and  customs and excise duty leveid by govt of India

I truly say that it is nonsense to price iPhone that much. And all those people talking about AT&T contract in US should know that AT&T provides you service with 3G networking for that time-period also. You dont pay for nothing.

it also cost that much in china. just buy it in america like i did and bring it to your country.
