Question:

Apple Store Group Interview?

After applying to the Apply Stores here in Las Vegas, I received an e-mail asking me to attend a "group interview." Has anyone here attended one of these group interviews? What was your experience? Also, last but definitely not least, what kind of attire would you recommend for a guy?

The phrasing of the e-mail makes this interview sound more like a Q&A for prospective employees, but I'm sure the questions we ask helps them form their opinion of us as well.

  1. I've done group interviews for some retail stores. They want to see how well you interact with other people and what your communication skills are like. You basically sit at a table with other applicants and everyone in the room takes a turn answering q's.

When the interviewer asks a question, try to be one of the first people to answer the question- it'll make you look like you want the job and you're prepared for the interview. Speak slowly and clearly, be relaxed, and smile. Think up good answers before the interview so that you'll be prepared.

Wear black dress pants and a button-down shirt in a solid, professional color.

  2. Usually in a group interview all the applicants and employer sit together. The employer asks questions and the applicants just take turns giving their individual answers for each question. The employer usually just lets you answer in any order, you just have to speak up and get your answer in.

You should wear a nice button down dress shirt, dress pants, and dress shoes. Good luck!

  3. Apple should have employee referral recruitment. If you know one friend who is the employee of Apple, you can ask him/her to refer you to your dreaming position. Don't worry if you don't have this kind of friend. I suggest that you can go to Jobirn.com, you can contact with employees Apple, even ask them to refer you to the company if there is job opening. Moreover, you can chat with hiring managers or recruiters directly, which will enlarge you chance to get hired. I wish you can make full use of your network.

  4. Good choice with apple, macs are sick!

& ive never done a group interview, but id assume they probably ask a question and then you go around the table answering it? Or you go as a group, and they separate you to interview or something.
